Hopefully you aren’t getting sick of hearing about our latest style shoot, today I’d like to share with you how the vision came about!
When I started putting together the idea for our last style shoot I came across this color scheme on Pinterest. This is where the whole inspiration came from – I wanted pops of color and deep colors. I wanted to work with fresh berries and an eclectic array of props.
From choosing the color scheme I then had to decide the story I wanted to tell through this shoot.
I wanted to pitch it as a chic rustic elopement/intimate wedding. This one took place at Gilbertsville Farmhouse in South New Berlin, New York. I really like the rich autumn tones with bronze as well as the openness of the venue.
Sharon, the owner of Gilbertsville Farmhouse is a pleasure to work with and has graciously pitched our services to all of her brides – we are actively booking weddings there this summer and 2016. We wanted to achieve something completely different from what we are seeing in this space while staying true to our brand.
C & A Event Planning provided a specialty dessert station, florals and the overall coordinator/stylist. We also worked with incredible vendors to achieve this story, our vision.
On the day of the shoot, things had to shift – Mother Nature was knocking at our door. We were expecting a severe storm system with a tornado warning. My overall vision was to utilize the outdoor space at Gilbertsville. Thank goodness thinking on our toes is second nature to our team. And let’s not forget Jen Pecka – she worked her photography magic quickly!

Another look at our dessert station and behind the scenes of how we used the milking barn at Gilbertsville Farmhouse. We were able to do a few quick set ups outside – our s’more station! Chelsea and Mike were great sports with the impending weather and rush of the day.
Creating the s’mores themselves in the jar was interesting to say the least… I experienced a small fire in my oven – everything was fine but some of them were not so pretty.
Even with the stress of the weather, the s’mores being rushed and some of our story being misplaced – I couldn’t be happier with the story our vision told! The team we brought together was incredible and we cannot wait to work with each and every one again soon!! I loved the wind, the bouquet and how natural Chelsea was in the role of our bride!
