Every year I try to either choose a word or set goals to carry out throughout the upcoming year. I chose my word back in November and it was completely unintentional! I was reading an email newsletter when my mind started rolling and it just clicked. My word for 2018 is meaningful.

Meaningful. Having a serious, important, or useful quality or purpose [Dictionary.com].

This year I’ve said yes to so many fun experiences and opportunities while trying to stay Intentional (my word for 2017).. However, some of the yes’s weren’t great for the season I was in or for my family. I’m a yes person – I say yes to everything (well, almost everything) without skipping a beat. I have always wanted to be a people pleaser whether it is good for me or not. It’s not always good for me, for my family or for my business. Honestly, it can be exhausting!

So it makes perfect sense (at least to me) to kick off a new year with intention to make everything meaningful. Life is incredibly too short and I want to make the most out of all my blessings. 2018’s word totally stems from my current word – Intentional. It very much continues the same theme for me while making me a little more accountable for my actions.

Do you choose a word or set goals for the new year? I’d love to hear from you!
