As a seasoned wedding planner, I’ve encountered a wide range of behaviors on couples’ big days. One steadfast rule we emphasize to our clients is the importance of “Eat, Drink, Repeat.”
While it’s perfectly fine to indulge in a mimosa or some bubbly while getting ready, it’s crucial not to neglect hydration. Your wedding day is a marathon of emotions and excitement, and staying properly hydrated with water or electrolyte-filled drinks like Gatorade is essential for maintaining energy levels and keeping those happy tears flowing.
And let’s talk about keeping “hangry” at bay—nobody wants to deal with hunger pangs on top of wedding-day jitters, am I right? That’s why we strongly recommend designating someone to handle food pickups. Whether it’s a cheese and meat platter, an assortment of fresh fruit, or some delicious bites from Panera or the local grocery store, having easy-to-grab snacks on hand ensures that you and your wedding party stay fueled and focused throughout the festivities.
In addition to hydration and snacks, it’s also important to carve out moments for relaxation and self-care amidst the hustle and bustle of the day. Consider setting aside a quiet corner or a cozy room where you can take a few deep breaths, center yourselves, and soak in the joy of the moment.
And finally, don’t hesitate to delegate tasks and responsibilities to trusted friends, family members, or vendors. By sharing the load, you’ll free up mental space to fully immerse yourselves in the magic of your wedding day and create unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.
